Surgeons / dental surgeons

Mund. Kiefer. Gesicht. Bremen lives from the work of our surgeons:

and dental surgeons:

Our surgeons bring a wide range of cultural and professional backgrounds, in accordance with their international training and origin, to our practices. They are multi-lingual and all of them specialise in O & M (oral and maxillofacial surgery) and facial plastic surgery. They are all very thankful for their highly motivated commitment of their nurses, whom they all appreciate and respect as competent colleagues and exchange information about specialised topics and patients with them every day.

As a result of the medical and dental training, O & M surgery holds a special position between surgeons and dental surgeons and it forms the link between the two worlds at the same time. The most frequent interface with other surgeons and dental surgeons is the treatment of older patients who are frequently ill. O & M surgery training meets all of the requirements that enable them to partake in very fine facial aesthetics. We provide the dentoalveolar (dental) surgeryimplantology and jaw reconstructions as the foundations for the implants. One of our expertises lies in the surgical correction of jaw deformities as well as anomalies such as cleft-lips and palates. Minor and major tumour surgery also involves our surgeons –, as this also includes any necessary plastic reconstruction operations.

Our surgeons have proved their worth.

Professional footballers from Werder-Bremen go to Dr. Lanners if they have head injuries. Facemasks are made that fit the player's specific facial details - in accordance with the specific details provided by Dr. Lanners - and they are worn on the pitch to protect the player after an operation.

Dr. Dr. Köper was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit in 2006 for his work on the hospital ship “MS Anastasis”. He has spent several weeks on board every year since 1993, operating free-of-charge on numerous patients with anomalies or craniofacial tumours in different harbours along the West African coast. Drs. Köper, Lanners and Gropp receive the support of many colleagues in Bremen for their work in the Third World.
