- Born in 1948 in Bremen, grew up in Bremen-Walle, Germany ,
- Medicinal and dental studies in Hamburg,
- Began working as a doctor in Pinneberg and Ahrensburg (close to Hamburg) in the surgery, internal medicine, anaesthetics and emergency medicine,
- Trained as an ENT surgeon in the ENT clinic at the DIAKO, studied O & M surgery at the central hospital in St.-Jürgen-Straße, Bremen and Reinkenheide, in Bremerhaven,
- Has had his own O & M surgery practice at the DIAKO hospital in Bremen since 1982,
- 1982 to 2006 Attendant consultant surgeon in the ENT and plastic surgery clinic at the DIAKO hospital in Bremen,
- 1995 Additional plastic surgery operation qualifications, re-certified in 2005 and 2010,
- 1998 “Fellow Of European Board Of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons” (FEBOMS) European consultant certificate,
- 1999 “Dental implantology specialist” certification, re-certification in 2006.
- Since 1993 – Regular foreign missions with international surgery teams in various West African countries for treating head tumours, restoration of defective sight and facial abnormality surgery on board the “MS Anastasis” and “MS Africa Mercy” hospital ships; also worked at the Bethesda hospital in Togo and with “Doctors without frontiers” in Amman, Jordan,
- 2002 to 2009 Member of the Board of the German Association of oral and maxillofacial surgeons (DGMKG),
- 2006 Awarded the Federal Cross of Merit,
- Since 2008 – Member of the Board of the Chamber of Dentists in Bremen,
- 2008 Digital volume tomography consultant surgeon to dentists,
- 2010 Digital volume tomography consultant surgeon to ENT doctors,
- 2010 Official DGMKG spokesman at the state assembly,
- 2010 Awarded the "Basic pain therapy concept for O & M surgery" advanced training certificate.
