Computerised planning
Planning the implantology processes
You will profit from our teeth implant specialisation in many ways, starting with our modern Digital Volume Tomography (DVT) installation and our ‘SimPlant’ planning software. Our planning software reads the DVT data records. This makes it possible for us to run through the virtual operations on the computer screen before the actual operations are carried out on the patients. It lets us study the precise anatomy of the patient’s jaw. The quality and the availability of the bone as well as the proximity to endangered structures such as nerves, adjacent teeth or to the maxillary sinus will be recorded in order to select the optimum location for the tooth implant with regard to the dental care that will be provided later on by your dentist. The implantology operation displayed on the PC gives the operator a precise prediction of the operation and this safeguards your forthcoming treatment. The optimum localisation of the tooth implant is a very important factor regarding the functional and aesthetic success of the treatment. Sufficient bone being available is decisive with regard to holding the implant in place. The patients are able to see on the screen whether a tooth implant is possible without any bone augmentation procedures having to be taken first.
Planning orthodontic surgery:
Computer-based planning programs have now been used for several years in orthodontics and orthodontic surgery. We have been using various versions of the Quick Ceph program since 2001 for the preoperative diagnostics, planning the operation as well as controlling the progress after the surgical procedure.
Planning programs enable different treatment options to be displayed on he screen during the discussions held between a patient and the doctor. The three-dimensional x-ray diagnostic advancements are used here just as they are in the implantology. They will become even more significant over the coming years.
